How to create, change, and delete tasks
The Tasks tab on every event in TeamSnap ONE is where you tell your team what a game or practice needs. Add a task and anyone on the team can sign up for it, and TeamSnap keeps asking about the spots that are still open until they're filled. Only coaches and team managers can add, edit, or delete tasks.
Before you start: Know roughly how many people each job needs. You can change it later.
Start with default tasks
Some jobs come up at every single game — snacks, the clock, the scoreboard, live streaming. Rather than adding those to fifteen events one at a time, set them as default tasks and TeamSnap ONE puts them on your events for you.
If your season is already on the schedule, do this first. It's the fastest way to get tasks onto a full season.
Note
- Defaults only apply going forward. They never appear on events that have already happened.
- Default tasks add the task to the event. They don't assign anyone to it — someone still has to sign up or be assigned.
Create your own task
TeamSnap suggests some common tasks to start, along with anything a staff member on your team has created before.
- Open your TeamSnap ONE app
- Click on the All schedules tab and navigate to the event.
- Open the event and tap the Tasks tab.
- Tap Edit beside the “All tasks” button
- Tap the + button in the bottom right corner to add a new task
- Enter a task name and add a description.
- Set the number of volunteers you need.
- Tap Save.
Your task appears on the event, and TeamSnap ONE saves it to your team's suggestions for next time.
Note: Descriptions don't appear on the task overview — someone has to open the task to read one. Make the task name clear enough to stand on its own.
Delete a task
- Open the event and tap the Tasks tab.
- Click Edit
- Tap the delete icon to the right of the task you want to delete
- On the “Remove task” screen that comes up, click Remove
- Tap Save.
Anyone signed up for that task is no longer signed up. If you had assigned someone directly, TeamSnap emails them to let them know.
